Lyrics
Matthias Claudius, 1779,
from: Musen Almanach, published by: Joh. Heinr. Voß
free translation from German:
1st verse of:
Evensong
Der The moon has risen
The golden stars are shining
In the sky bright and clear:
The forest stands black and silent,
And from the meadows rises
The white mist rises wonderfully.
Matthias Claudius, 1779,
aus: Musen Almanach, Herausgeber: Joh. Heinr. Voß:
1. Strophe aus:
Abendlied
Der Mond ist aufgegangen
Die goldnen Sternlein prangen
Am Himmel hell und klar:
Der Wald steht schwarz und schweiget,
Und aus den Wiesen steiget
Der weiße Nebel wunderbar.
